It's all about the details...

Yes, the details. There are so many to think about. But they really emerge so seamlessly. As each is applied it informs the next and the next and the next. Until...there is a symphony of a doll.

The Doll Maker

I first started making dolls when I lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Folk dolls were everywhere and my early dolls had embrodiered faces and were very "folk". When I moved back to the states I found a wonderful cache of bisque heads and began to make the dolls more elegant. Sometimes a wonderful bit of fabric or gorgeous handmade paper or a charming bauble will inspire a doll. I never know where it will take me, but I'm always delighted with the doll that emerges.
